Mesotheliom

Definition:
Maligner Tumor, ausgehend von Mesothelzellen. In > 80 % der Fälle Manifestation als Pleuramesotheliom. Deutlich erhöhtes Risiko nach Asbestexposition; in Deutschland als Berufskrankheit anerkannt.
Häufigkeit:
In Deutschland erkranken jährlich ca. 2/100.000, wobei Männer wesentlich häufiger betroffen sind.
Symptome:
Unspezifisch, häufig Dyspnoe, gelegentlich Schmerzen.
Befunde:
Maligner Pleuraerguss, Pleuraverdickungen.
Diagnostik:
Bildgebung (CT/MRT) und histopathologische Aufarbeitung von Tumorgewebe.
Therapie:
In spezialisierten Zentren, multimodaler Ansatz.
Prognose:
Ungünstig; medianes Überleben ca. 12 Monate.
